In memory of Don Skowronski

Rest eternal grant him Lord,

shine on him the radiance of thy heavenly light

Born April 1st, 1944 in Erie PA

Died April 28th, 2004 in Montreal Quebec

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Don, who died from a sudden heart attack.  He is survived by his wife Anne, brother Larry and sister Janice, and children Andrew, Mary-Helen, Benjamin and Philip.  He touched many people, as a father and husband, as a spiritual leader, as a teacher, as a chaplain for the sick, as a champion for refugees and much more.  He helped many people quietly, with no desire for recognition, and he was active and adventurous, even moving the entire family to Zimbabwe for 2 years.  He loved the quiet peace of prayer retreats and enjoyed his country parishes, but he also thrived in the multi-cultural vibrancy of the city.

The visitation was held at his parish, St. Margaret of Scotland Church.  The funeral service was held on Monday, May 3rd, at Christ Church Cathedral.  It was a beautiful ceremony that the family will remember forever.  He is buried in the beautiful Mount Royal cemetery.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and help during this very difficult time.
