Plant Tips
When you
harvest your worms you will keep a little soil with the worms to restart your
bin and to donate to beginner wormers.
However you will also a nice pile of fresh soil made from the worm
castings.
Don’t use
100% worm castings to pot your plants – mix it half and half with planting
soil.
It is best
to use the worm castings soon after you harvest because of microscopic activity
in the fresh soil. According to the
wormswap gurus you can store it in a warm room, in sealed bags for months on
end and still retain its high potency.
Any liquid run
off from your bin is highly nutritious.
I’ve heard that you can use a heavily diluted form when watering
household plants. It’s also great out in
a garden.

looking for more tips from “green thumbs” – for example are there certain
plants that benefit more than others?)
